Once you and your children have filled out the Job Description, complete the Super Star Contract. Here, Kids Biz Rules are outlined, and Rewards and Consequences are put in writing. The Contract shifts the job responsibility from you to your children. Kids Biz becomes the "heavy" instead of you!
This contract teaches the importance of keeping agreements, following rules and the consequences of breaking a promise. Your children will thrive in this environment of fairness and clear expectations.
Rule #1:
I am expected to do each job with a cheerful attitude
and without being told more than once.
If I do not, I will not get an Achievement Check for that job.
Stops Nagging and Develops A Cheerful Attitude
Rule #2:
To earn credit, my Checks must be filled in before going
to bed, so I learn to live one day at a time.
Teaches Children To Live One Day At A Time
Rule #3:
Honesty is extremely important, so if I give myself an
Achievement Check without doing my job,
I lose all my checks for the day. This is called
a Wipe-Out!
Encourages Honesty and Integrity
Rule #4:
If I spend all my money, I may not borrow
without paying interest. (Best solution: Volunteer to do
extra jobs to earn more money.)
Teaches Children to Live Within Their Means
Optional Rule:
If I do not do my Top Priority Daily jobs which are highlighted
on my Job Description, I get a Daily Jobs Wipe-Out!
Overcomes Procrastination
Setting a minimum daily quota of Achievement Checks is a specific short-term
goal
